Janine Nubani Contursi is an active philanthropist who has engaged in a number of community initiatives, including the lead role in a successful campaign to shut down construction on a major power plant in Colorado’s Elbert County. Janine Nubani also supports organizations such as the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC). Beyond her charity work, Janine Contursi enjoys staying active through cycling and Bikram yoga despite a spinal injury.

Bikram yoga differs from other disciplines of yoga in a number of ways, most notably when it comes to the temperature in the yoga studio. On average, Bikram yoga studios are kept between 95 and 107 degrees. The intense heat generates considerable sweat in practitioners, which allows for greater flexibility over the course of a session. Of course, this heat can also be a bit uncomfortable, particularly for individuals who do not dress properly for the occasion.

Though it may go against common sense, anyone preparing for a hot yoga session should avoid wearing shorts. A person’s lower extremities will sweat regardless of what they are wearing, and exposed legs can create a slippery situation on a yoga mat. Instead, practitioners should consider form fitting yoga pants or capris.

Men should wear a fitted tank top to a Bikram yoga session, while women may choose between a tank top or sports bra. Loose fitting t-shirts may feel comfortable at the start of a session, but as you sweat more and more, you will find less is best! Similarly, yogis should refrain from wearing 100 percent cotton, as the material’s propensity for absorbing sweat can result in heavy clothing for the remainder of a session.

Over the course of her career, Janine Nubani has produced music videos for well-known artists, created video content for major television networks, collaborated with CEOs on communications strategies, and planned and executed large-scale promotional events. In her free time, the former Janine Nubani Contursi enjoys traveling and hiking, and she has combined these interests on trips to Kitzbuhel, a valley town in the Tyrol province of Austria.

Located at the base of the nearly 2,000-meter-tall Kitzbuheler Horn, Kitzbuhel has developed a reputation as one of the most popular skiing locations in Austria. In the warm-weather months, however, Kitzbuhel becomes a destination for hikers, who come for the 1,000-plus kilometers of trails the area offers.

Individuals can choose to take leisurely strolls through picturesque meadows and valleys or opt to embark on strenuous climbs up the slopes. Specific options include the 15-kilometer Kaiser Trail, which offers beautiful views. Other trails lead hikers up the Wilder Kaiser and Emperor mountains. Wherever they decide to go, hikers will find numerous mountain huts, where they can snack on locally produced foods and even stay overnight during the summer.

Kitzbuhel Tourism provides free guided hikes for visitors of varying abilities on Mondays through Fridays during the summer months. Hikers should be advised that the best time of the year to visit is between the middle of May and the end of October.
